Research On Maritime Consciousness Education For College Students

In recent years,the competition for maritime rights and interests among countries around the world is becoming increasingly fierce.Consequently,the situation of maritime security in China is getting grim.Enhancing maritime awareness nationally has been proved to be an important factor for the development of China’s maritime undertaking.College students,as the main force of social development,shoulder the historical mission of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Likewise,enhancing the maritime awareness of college students is of great significance to China’s strategic goal of being a strong maritime nation,which is related to China’s maritime rights and interests.Therefore,constructing a scientific marine consciousness education system for college students is of great practical and theoretical significance to strengthen the education on college students’ marine consciousness.Taking the marine consciousness education of college students as the research objective,this paper adopts various research methods,such as documentary analysis,questionnaire survey,and in-depth interview to grasp the basic status of the marine consciousness education among contemporary college students,and further explores feasible paths to improve the effectiveness of maritime awareness education for college students.Firstly,in terms of theory,this paper starts with the carding of concepts and theories,then analyzes the construction of college students’ marine consciousness education system based on the definitions of maritime consciousness,maritime consciousness education and other related concepts,and the maritime concepts of Marx and Engels,the maritime thoughts of the CPC’s previous leaders.Secondly,in the aspects of practice,investigated the current situation of marine awareness education among college students through questionnaires and interviews,the author found that though the education of maritime consciousness of college students has achieved some achievements,it still bears some problems.For examples,the insufficient government’s guidance of maritime consciousness education for college students,lower effectiveness of maritime consciousness education for college students,insufficient social promotion of maritime consciousness,and insufficient participation in maritime activities among college students.On this basis,this paper has analyzed the reasons behind of the existing problems.Finally,based on the analysis of the current situation of college students’ maritime consciousness education,this paper puts forward measures to promote college students’ maritime awareness from four perspectives: taking the strengthening of the guiding role of the government as the foundation,taking the fully playing of the leading role of universities as the key,taking the strengthening of the propaganda and education role of the society as the assistance,and taking the improvement of college students’ subjective initiative as the foothold.
