The widening of regional economic disparity is a serious problem with China's rapid economic growth. With the development of science and technology and the increasing trend of economic globalization, the regional disparities of total factor productivity, including technical and management factors, has an increasing influence on the regional economic disparities. In the period of rapid socio-economic development,in order to better promote and realize the deep integration of supply-side structural reform and coordinated development of regional economy, and to clarify the evolution trend, convergence and influencing factors of regional TFP,it is of key theoretical and practical significance to further promote the continuous narrowing of regional TFP and economic disparities.Firstly, this paper explores and studies the evolution trend of China's total factor productivity regional disparities at provincial and sub-regional levels, and points out that with the development of China's social economy, the regional disparity of total factor productivity continues to expand, and there is polarization in the regional total factor productivity, especially in the eastern, central and western regions. At the same time, with the continuous rise of total factor productivity,it also shows its key role and significance.Secondly, this paper selects provincial panel data from 2000 to 2017 to test the convergence of TFP among provinces and sub-regions,and draws the conclusion that TFP shows the trend of ? absolute convergence,? relative convergence and club convergence, but does not show ? convergence.Thirdly, this paper constructs a fixed effect panel model to further explore the factors affecting the total factor productivity of provinces and sub-regions.The results show that besides excessive capital accumulation has a negative impact on interprovincial total factor productivity,FDI level, industrial structure, marketization, urbanization and scientific and technological level all have a positive impact on the improvement of total factor productivity.Sub-regions show that all factors have important influences on the eastern, central and western regions, but the influence directions are positive and negative, which are closely related to the regional conditions. At the same time, from the perspective of impact intensity, the total factor productivity in eastern and central regions is mainly affected by industrial structure, while the total factor productivity in western regions is mainly affected by urbanization. Therefore,it is pointed out that there is a significant disparity in total factor productivity among different regions in China. Finally, combined with the previous analysis and the current economic environment, this paper puts forward some policy suggestions to improve the level of total factor productivity in backward areas in order to alleviate the regional total factor productivity disparities in the critical period of China's economic transformation. In the future development,we should rationally optimize the structure of industry and foreign capital according to the situation and advantages of each region, promote the moderate accumulation of capital and increase investment in regional scientific research, continuously promote the level of urbanization and marketization, further narrow the disparities of regional total factor productivity, and promote the regional convergence development of total factor productivity.
