A Study On The Impact Of Entrepreneurship Quality On The Position Of Global Value Chain

In the context of the deepening of international division of labor,the measurement of total trade can no longer truly and effectively reflect a country's gains in international trade.The GVC(Global Value Chain)position index based on the added value can more accurately reflect a country's status of GVC and reveal the true state of a country in international trade activities.The "Global Value Chain Development Report 2019" states that China is still at the end of many Asian value chains,indicating that China's GVC position is still low.At the same time,the number of entrepreneurship in China has grown significantly in the context of "Mass Innovation,Mass Entrepreneurship".However,the substantial increase in the number of entrepreneurship has failed to promote the substantial growth of the GVC position.The quality of entrepreneurship is a more critical indicator for promoting economic growth than the number of entrepreneurship.Therefore,the quality of entrepreneurship rather than the number of entrepreneurship can promote the promotion of the GVC position.This paper studies the relationship between entrepreneurship quality and GVC position,provides reference standards for the high-quality development of entrepreneurship activities in various countries,and provides theoretical support for countries to improve the quality of entrepreneurship to promote the rise of the GVC position.This paper uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods to conduct research,using the data from the WIOD database(World Input-Output Database)and Global Entrepreneurship Monitor(GEM)database from 2005 to 2014 to conduct an empirical test on the relationship between the quality of entrepreneurship and the GVC position and the mechanism of entrepreneurship quality affecting GVC position.Specifically,this paper first defines the concept of entrepreneurship quality and analyzes the relationship between entrepreneurship quality and GVC position through the knowledge spillover theory of entrepreneurship and institutional theory.Secondly,observe characteristic facts of the data,use benchmark regression for preliminary tests,and verify the robustness of the research conclusions through endogenous and robustness tests.Finally,the mechanism of the impact of entrepreneurship quality on the GVC position is verified through the mediating effect,moderating effect and the threshold effect.The paper gets relevant conclusions: First,entrepreneurship quality significantly promotes the improvement of the GVC position.Second,there is a technology level intermediary between entrepreneurship quality and GVC position,and entrepreneurship quality can promote the rise of GVC position by improving technology levels.The impact of entrepreneurship quality on the position of GVC exists the threshold of financial development and institutional environment.Under different levels of financial development and institutional environment,the role of entrepreneurship quality in promoting the position of GVC is different.Third,the higher the quality of entrepreneurship,the stronger its role in promoting the GVC position.The quality of entrepreneurship in developed countries has a greater role in promoting the position of GVC than in developing countries.The sub-indicator of the quality of entrepreneurship,entrepreneurship motivation,has the largest contribution to the promotion of GVC position.The contributions of this paper are as follows: Clearly define and use the existing data to measure the index of entrepreneurship quality.Study the relationship between entrepreneurial activities and GVC position from the perspective of entrepreneurship quality.Empirically tests of the impact of entrepreneurship quality on the position of GVC and its mechanism.
