Research On The Dialectical Relationship Between Human Enhancement And Human Dignity

Human enhancement is a technical means to improve human capacity through direct intervention on the human body.Due to the complexity of the technology and the directness of the technology,its development will involve a series of major practical issues such as human dignity,human survival and development,which have attracted wide attention of experts and scholars.Among them,the discussion of the interrelationship between human enhancement and human dignity from the perspective of STS arouses our research interest.Firstly,it analyzes the meaning and type of human enhancement,the meaning and type of human dignity,and explores Kant's concept of dignity,Marx's theory of dignity and the thought of technical value load,laying a foundation for the follow-up research.Secondly,based on the reality,this paper expounds the influence of the development of human augmentation on human dignity.Although the rational use of human enhancement can to some extent protect the safety of human life,maintain the health of human life,promote the realization of human's essential potential,and ensure the equal opportunity of human beings,it has a positive effect on human dignity;However,the irrational use of human enhancement will bring challenges to human dignity,which is embodied in the damage to the integrity of the human species,the social inequality,the violation of human autonomy,the damage to human health and safety,and the weakening of the spiritual power of human dignity.Thirdly,the influence of human dignity on human enhancement is discussed from two aspects of technology research and development and application.After expounding the positive and negative effects ofhuman dignity on the research and development of human enhancement technology from the direction,depth and breadth,the positive and negative effects on the application of human enhancement technology are analyzed from the aspects of value basis,alienation of technological value,development speed and space scope.Through the above research,it is not difficult to find that there is a dialectical relationship between human enhancement and human dignity.In order to eliminate human enhancement to the harm of human dignity,enhance the sustainable and healthy development,allow a human being,must take into account the human dignity strengthen the guiding role in humans,which in turn from the technical,cognitive and management three aspects in order to maintain the dignity of people on the basis of reasonable development Suggestions:(1)improve human enhancement technology of security and targeted;(2)The comprehensive understanding human enhances,sets up the correct dignity view;(3)establish strict supervision mechanism,plan the scope of use and the subject of implementation,formulate reasonable laws,regulations and ethical principles,and strengthen ethical review and social supervision.Together,these three areas will ensure and facilitate the development and application of human enhancement to maintain and enhance human dignity.
