Taxonomic Study Of The Lichenized Fungi From Mount Tai

Lichens are composite organisms consisting of mycobiont with photobiont(algae or/and cyanobacteriae).For its sensitive to air pollution,lichen can be regarded as a monitor of the pollution.The lichenized fungi are more sensitive than plant to environmental change.The component of lichen species and the change of quantity of an area are the indictor of the variety of ecosystem.However,since the last century,due to deforestation and the deteriorating ecological environment caused by industrial pollution,a large number of species are in danger of extinction.Study on lichen compositon of Mt.Tai is of great signification to the natural conservation in this area,and to provide information for the protection of rare and endangered lichen species.More than 1700 specimens were collected from Mt.Tai,Shandong province,deposited in the Lichen Herbarium of the College of Life Sciences,Liaocheng University(LCU).Based on the comprehensive methods of morphology,anatomy,chemistry,geography and molecular systematic,55 species belonging to 31 genera and 18 families are reported,including 1 new species to science,viz.: Buellia taishanensis;3 new record species in China,viz.: Buellia chujana,B.halonia and Endocarpon petrolepideum;14 new record species in Shandong Province,viz.: Acarospora cervina,Buellia badia,Cladonia coniocraea,Cl.subconistea,Diploschistes actinostomus,Heterodermia isidiophora,H.propagulifera,Lecanora argopholis,L.symmicta,Lepraria caesioalba,Phaeophyscia ciliata,Ph.exornatula,Physcia aipolia,Trapelia coarctata.The family Graphidaceae was first reported in Shandong Province.Based on the analysis of the distribution of altitudes and substratum in Mt.Tai,and on the basis of comprehensive and reference related information,7 geographical components are present,and floristic characteristics of Taishan lichen are given inthe present thesis.Each species is described in detail with the new comprehensive concept.The keys to the genera and species are given.The photos of all species showing their habits and part of microscopic structures of asci are present.The data and information of this study should be helpful to research on the diversity of lichenized fungi in the future,and redound to the research and compilation of the Flora Lichenum Sinicorum.
