Objective The skeletal muscle mass of Tibetans adults,Han adults in Liaoning,Liaoning Han nationality adults in Tibet were measured by Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis method to find the reference values of skeletal muscle mass and reasons of different distributions of skeletal muscle mass in Liaoning Han adults in Tibet,Tibetan adults and Liaoning local Han adults, further to research the racial and regional differences of skeletal muscle mass and distribution characteristics. Methods Each measuring object must sign the informed consent form.We adopted the overall random sampling method to select healthy adults from Tibetans,Han nationality in Tibet and Liaoning local Han nationality.777 cases(Han males worked in Tibet for 91 cases,Han females worked in Tibet for 128 cases;Tibetans males for 123 cases,Tibetans females for 133 cases;Han males in Liaoning for 126 cases,Han females in Liaoning for 176 cases)were selected, who were measured by body composition analyzer and were concluded the total skeletal muscle, left upper limbs muscle mass, right upper limbs muscle mass, left lower limbs muscle mass, right lower limbs muscle mass, trunk muscle mass,All the results were inputted SPSS22.0 software and be processed by independent sample t-test and related statistics. Results The weight and the muscle content of each part of the Liaoning Han males in Tibet were lower than those of the local Han males in Liaoning(P<0.01).Compared with the Tibetan male adult population, the weight and body muscle mass were slightly smaller than the Tibetan male population, other muscles masses were slightly larger than the Tibetan male population, and the lower limbs mass were significantly different(P<0.01).The body weight and muscle content of the Han female adults in Tibetan were lower than those of the Han females in Liaoning, and the results were significantly different(P<0.01),compared with the Tibetan adult female population, the body weight and muscle content were slightly smaller than those of Tibetan females, the results were not significantly different(P>0.05).In the same region and ethnicity, the muscle mass of each part of the male body was higher than that of the female, and the results were significantly different(P<0.01).Conclusions verall comparison, the muscle masses of local Han in Liaoning were higher than those of Han in Tibet, and the comparison results were significantly different. The muscle mass of the lower limbs of the adult population of Liaoning Han nationality in Tibet was slightly higher than that of the Tibetan adults, but there was no difference between them. The indicators of body weight, total muscle mass, trunk muscle mass and double upper limb muscle mass of the adult Liaoning Han nationality in Tibet were slightly lower than those of Tibetan adults, but only body weight had significant difference, others indicators had no significant difference.Changes in body composition can be attributed to a variety of factors such as race, gender, and genetic environment.
