Abstract/Summary:
In this thesis, the NRD resonator (Non Radiative dielectric) is used for the first time to develop an active, prototype in Ku-band (14-14.5 GHz). This prototype can be used later at millimeter-wave in particular in the LMCS (25.35-28.35 GHz) and LMDS (27.5-28.35, 29.1-31.0, 31.0-31.3 GHz) bands.;Many realizations were made to prove the good performances of the NRD antenna and to design an active NRD array antenna. The design of the antenna begins with the study and experimentation of an UDR antenna made with only one dielectric resonator followed by the integration of an amplifier to make a hybrid system that benefits the advantages of the two technologies (Active planar circuits and UDR). The result proved that the passive UDR antenna can be use to make a very good directive antenna with low RF losses due to the property of the NRD. The comparison between radiation pattern of active and passive NRD antenna shows that the gain of the antenna was significantly improved with the addition of the amplifier without disturbing the radiation pattern of the antenna.;After this step was made, it was easy to design hybrid NRD antenna array using eight NRD resonators and four amplifiers.
