Abstract/Summary:
An Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation is a very complex project that requires an investment of time and resources to create an optimal system. Therefore, to ensure a useable system is created, it is often suggested that project managers incorporate a training program for end-users. However, not all organizations choose to provide a training management program, which can cause the project team to have a harder time reaching project objectives. The training management program provides a solution to train end-users using skilled project team members. Additionally, the training management program provides a solution using project management process groups and project objectives. This training management program is used in relation to the ERP project. By doing this the training management program can help with project risks that happen as the ERP implementation develops, like data migration and testing. Moreover, the training management program can be used as a comparison if the ERP vendor has already created a training program. The goal of the training management program is to create a documented process using project management fundamentals for an ERP implementation to make the project objective of a useable system more obtainable.
