| Multiple Input Multiple Output Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) schemes have recently drawn wide interest due to their capability of high data rate transmission over multipath fading channels. This report presents MATLAB simulation results to investigate a Packet Error Rate (PER) and a Bit Error Rate (BER) of different adaptive precoded MIMO-OFDM architectures, including Co-Polarized MIMO-OFDM, Dual-Polarized MIMO-OFDM, and Space Polarized MIMO-OFDM in Rayleigh, Rician, and Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channels. Simulations are performed using 16-PSK and 16-QAM modulators. Performance metrics are compared with non-precoded architectures. The performance is investigated over different polarization-sensitive channels, and it includes the impact of packet erasures. The simulation results reveal that the adaptive precoded MIMO-OFDM architectures have better BER & PER compared to non-precoded architectures. |
