Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology is an emerging transmitting technology for short-distance wideband and high speed wireless communication. It is featured with high system capacity, low power spectral densities, exceptional multi-path immunity, simple structure and low probability of detection. It is considered as one of the key technologies for the next generation wireless communication. The traditional UWB technology transmits digital information by modulating the amplitude and the phase of super short pulse. MB-OFDM UWB is the new UWB scheme suggesting that proposed in recent years, already becomes the hot spot studying at home and abroad. Multiple-input multiple-out(MIMO)technology in the use of multiple transmitter and receiver antennas, could improve the capacity of the communication system and spectral utilization ratio at double without increasing the bandwidth and the emissive power situation.This paper wants to turn the MB-OFDM UWB technology and MIMO technology combination, provide a new high-speed transmission means.This paper on the base of introducing the UWB technology and MIMO technology, the basic principles, characteristics and MIMO-OFDM UWB development status, describes in detail MB-OFDM UWB Wireless Communication System, including the system frequency band division, the transmitter principle structure, the receiver principle structure, and the ultra-wide channel model, then it establishes a MB-OFDM UWB system model on ADS simulation platform, performance of the system is simulated. Then the principle of MIMO system is described. Through theoretic analysis two combination scheme of space-time coding technology and MB-OFDM UWB system, the system model is also established on ADS simulation platform, and performance of the system is simulated.Theoretical research and simulation results show that the MIMO-OFDM UWB system has obvious performance improvement comparing with conventional MB OFDM UWB system. In view of the system characteristic, this paper introduces a new MMSE Iterative Soft Decision Interference Cancellation algorithm,it makes the optimization system to increase system performance in the premise of not increasing system complexity. Finally it is a summary of this work and prospects of future work.
