With the rapid development of the mobile communications and other wireless networks, the shortage of spectrum resources becomes more and more serious. How to improve the efficiency of data transmission has become very important. MIMO technology converts the serial channel to parallel channels and then improves the system capacity effectively. OFDM technology divides the frequency-selective channel into many small flat channels, and then increases the system's ability to combat multi-path fading. MIMO-OFDM system has the all advantages of OFDM and MIMO, so it can improve the system capacity and reliability effectively. This topic is designed by using software radio theory and the hardware architecture is DSP and FPGA. The data is generated by the PC, and transferred to the FPGA and DSP. After the DSP and FPGA complete the data processing, the data is sent by the radio transmitter. The processing of the receiver is just a reverse. In order to eliminate inter-antenna interference and improve system performance much better, we design the iterative decoder at the receiver. This dissertation focuses on the design and DSP implementation of MIMO-OFDM system. To improve the performance and reliability of the system, it also completes the protocol and interface design of the Turbo iterative equalization links. The simulation results show that it can increase the number of iterations effectively. In order to test the system performance fully, first of all, this dissertation conductes an indoor wired small signal testing for all links to verify the signal range, on which the system can work properly. Secondly, it validates the performance between floating-point simulation and fixed-point implementation of DSP by importing data. Thirdly, by using the channel simulator to simulate the real wireless environment , it testes the performance and stability of the system. At last, it testes all the data links in wireless environment and verify the system performance under a variety of operating frequency.
