Abstract/Summary:
The Workflow process automation has been a major dollar saving area for manufacturing and servicing industries, and extensive research and development of innumerable tools and services by many vendors took place. Interoperability between the tools and services was not considered initially. Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) coalition formed by major workflow vendors to develop standards, On the basis of the WfMC's Workflow reference model [WfM95], separate groups have generated Interoperability standards based on the messaging protocol and data encoding employed for data transfer between the systems, SWAP, Wf-XML, AWSP etc.; All the above-defined interoperability standards provide a standard mechanism for accessing Process Factory, Process Instances and the Observer of generated processes. The mechanisms, methods and naming conventions may vary based on type of messaging protocols and binding used; however, principles are the same. (Abstract shortened by UMI.)...
