The importance of having a technically and digitally literate skilled workforce in the United States is important to the success and productivity growth of the country. The work performed in this paper was on the digital divide in the workplace and to identify whether or not the digital divide existed in a small community college in New York State and how that would affect a Service Level Agreement within that organizations Information Technology Department. The steps in completing this task included defining the concept of the digital divide, identifying contributing factors to this problem and what effects being digitally illiterate have on the individual and the organization that employs the individual and then a practicum was completed at the community college whereby information was gathered to help identify that a digital divide existed and a Service Level Agreement was completed with suggestions on how the campus could encourage technical literacy.
