Abstract/Summary:
Increasing the throughput of the communication systems received much attention because of the quantum leaps in communication technologies; network coding is one of the techniques used to increase the throughput of communication networks based on efficient use of available resources. In contrast to network routing schemes, where multiple data streams keep separated throughout the network, network coding allows intermediate nodes to combine data from multiple data streams into a single data stream with the use of coding operations. This work investigated the performance of joint network/channel coding (JNCC) over multiple access cooperative relay wireless networks by means of computer based simulation. The performance was evaluated over AWGN and block fading channels. The simulation results showed that JNCC enhances the bit error rate performance without a reduction of the effective coding rate.
