Abstract/Summary: | |
Traditional Quality audit programs are predicated on the belief that first-party audits should be the primary tool used by quality practitioners to ensure organizational success. Internal audits serve to identify compliance and performance deficiencies. Unfortunately, many managers and executives do not hold these audits or the personnel that conduct them in very high regard.;By drawing on the personal experience of the writer and a thorough review of the literature, an alternative approach to monitoring the systemic performance of an organization was conceived, developed and implemented. This alternative approach is based upon effective collaboration between quality assurance and operations personnel to jointly identify a monitoring paradigm that will not be disregarded by either party.;The project culminated in the implementation of a quality monitoring system that continually tracks jointly specified quality metrics identified as critical to the survival and success of the organization. |
