Abstract/Summary:
Digital processing has gone from a novel idea to a normal field of study in the last 25 years. Engineering classes have included digital signal processing, discrete transformations and methods, digital communications, and digital image processing as part of the normal criterion in electrical engineering. It then comes as no surprise that new methodologies and algorithms have made digital and discrete time systems innovative, allowing the communication, entertainment, medical, aerospace, and other major industries flourish to cost effective, technically sound solutions.;This thesis focuses on digital image processing in the form of time based video, deploying a specific detection of stochastic change algorithm to detect static interferers. The first part of the thesis discusses pertinent probability and stochastic process theory, as well as digital image applications. The second part of the thesis discusses the detection of stochastic change algorithm, and its implementation. The third part of the thesis discusses the application of the detection of stochastic changing algorithm to digital images and ultimately to time-based video. Extensions of the latter algorithm are implemented in this thesis.
