Abstract/Summary:
This report investigates optimal scattering devices location in a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) wireless deterministic channel using a transmitter beamforming technique. The purpose of this study is to find the best location for the active scatter elements in a defined system so that the wasted power is eliminated while the power at the desired receiver antenna is maximized. The transmitter beamforming technique is employed to control the radiated power dedicated to the desired specific location with 40dBm suppression to the other undesired receiver antennas. We built a line of sight (LOS) channel model then chose the best scatter location to complete the system with convex optimization solver (CVX) at the transmitter antennas. The composite transfer function (CTF) along with the channel state information (CSI) generates orthogonal beams which are sent to the receiver antennas. This process allows for frequency reuse at the same time. A multi-user MIMO system is implemented with Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (QPSK) modulation with all signals transmitted with the same frequency and at the same time. The Bit Error Rate (BER) performance is analyzed with the use of MATLAB.
