During the process of radar design, it is hard to ignore the contradiction between detection performance and RF stealth. As the developing of radar technology, electronic surveillance technology is also getting more advanced. Thus in the complex electronic counter measures environment, the viability of radar is confronted with hostile ESM’s threat. Under the premise of strive to detect as more distant, smaller, slower target as possible, in order to enhance its combat capability, radar should reduce the probability that be intercepted by hostile ESM and ARM. That is why radar’s RF stealth performance is so important to its viability.MIMO technology was invented at late90last century. Its spatial multiplexing gain and spatial diversity gain can improve the communication channel capacity, channel reliability effectively. Inspired by this MIMO technology, D. Rabideau proposed the concept of MIMO radar. After a period of research and development, centralized MIMO radar has get more attention because of its structural similarity to the traditional radar. At present, MIMO radar has become a hot topic in the field of radar research. As a new radar system, MIMO radar has a excellent performance in weak target detection, speed resolution, dynamic range and anti-interception. In recent years, domestic MIMO radar research has get good progress in target detection, but the research of its RF stealth performance is not depth enough. Existed literature discuses MIMO radar’s anti-interception in terms of transmission power only, there isn’t any quantitative analysis in the performance that reconnaissance receiver’s interception of MIMO radar’s transmitting signal. This dissertation introduces the principles of MIMO radar, and compares MIMO radar and phased array radar in anti-intercepted performance in terms of transmission power. Then, starting with the reconnaissance technology, this dissertation compares compares MIMO radar and phased array radar in anti-recognition performance, and makes large amount of simulation. At last I derived the Anti-Location performance of MIMO radar.
