Abstract/Summary:
This survey study was conducted to determine how Arizona employers with audio recording studios in 2013 perceive the various kinds of formal audio education and their holistic training needs to better prepare post-secondary graduates for entry-level employment at their facilities. It also determined the general availability of audio production employment and the relevance of audio education to gainful employment at a recording facility in the state of Arizona. 58 businesses, limited to active LLC, corporate, or commercial facility-based businesses identified as having a recording facility with either a large-format recording console or minimum of a 24-fader control surface were identified, successfully reached, and invited to participate in the online anonymous survey. The questions and survey results are shared as well as interpretation of data that also took into account some follow-up personal interviews with a few of the participating subjects that expressed interest in learning the results of the data.
