The purpose of this document is to provide a foundation for a book dealing with a unified vocabulary and pedagogical approach for the teaching of movement in an American training system. The thesis discusses: (1) he concept, the body is text; (2) Students and the teaching environment; (3) The learning environment; (4) Teaching methodology; (5) The essentials of movement training; (6) The importance of a unified vocabulary for the teaching of movement. An outline of the book to follow the thesis is provided as well as a proposed writing time line in the appendices. |
