The purpose of this study is to examine the existence of public relations practitioner roles in General Motors Corporation. The principal research question is, "To what extent, if any, do public relations practitioner roles exist in General Motors Corporation?" The research examines corollary questions concerning whether or not public relations practitioner roles exist within the organization, and if so are they clearly defined. Results found evidence suggesting existence within GM's corporate communications function of the Broom and Dozier roles known as "communication technician" and "communication manager," as well as evidence of Wright's "communication executive" role. |
