Objective:To explore and analyze the main problems and influential factors in general-practitioner-building project in Chongqing by learning about the conditions of GP registration,professional cognition,practicing enthusiasm,status quo of GP' training,demands and feedback.To provide references and realistic basis for relevant departments' further exploration of a proper operation mechanism of GP's group construction and enhancement of the GP's building in local hospitals by making practical suggestions.Methods:Databases such as CNKI,VIP,Wan fang were used to search related literatures,and questionnaires and interview outline were designed after classifying and summarizing those literatures.To know relevant situation about GP practice and training,stratified cluster sampling method were applied to conduct questionnaire surveys on GPs from 34 townshiphospitals and 24 community health service centers.Deep interviews were carried out on GPs and managerial personnel from primary health care institutions and related management stuff from health and family planning commission in districts and counties to analyze and discuss the difficulties,problems and suggestions during the period of GP practice and training.SPSS21.0 was used to statistically analyze data,frequencies and percentages to express count data and?~2 text to compare with between groups.Results:1.With no big gender difference,there were 338 participants mainly at the age of 31 to 40,most of whom had a junior college degree or a bachelors degree.The majority of them had a primary or middle technical post title and in a personnel establishment.A big part of them had already gained a certificate of practicing physician or a certificate of assistant physician.2.Only 52 out of 338 participants registered General Medicine Specialty.Only 28.87% of participants hold a “good” or “very good”opinion for general practitioner's career prospect in the near ten to fifteen years.Many participants chose to work at the base due to “no place to find a better job,making a solid foundation in local hospitals and taking chance to go to a better place”36.09% or due to “ policy limitation and noalternative choices”.The main factors for GP's low enthusiasm in practicing were as follows : low salary and welfare87.80%;low social recognition 64.58%;little chance of training52.38%.3.41.64% of participants were under training or had been trained before,and 58.36% of participants had never participated in a training course.The leading factor of whether participating in training courses was“heavy workload and inefficient time”59.38%.And 59.21% of participants said that there was “ not much” or “little” time or opportunities for training.4.GPs had low satisfaction for training and the majority of them evaluated all the training phases as “general”.Conclusion:This research found that problems of group construction of GP talents in primary health service institutions were as follows: firstly,there was a low registration rate of GP practice and no attraction of being a GP;secondly,GPs didn't have specific responsibilities,clear career path,high and work motivation for their job;thirdly,They rarely participated in training courses and their contradiction between work and study was prominent;lastly,they had low satisfaction of GP's training and the training effectiveness needed to be improved.To promote the building of GP talents in primary health serviceinstitutions in Chongqing and further improve the system of general practice,suggestions and strategies are given as follows: firstly,the GP's responsibilities in local hospitals must be specified and the registration system of GP practice must be standardized;secondly,the improvement of incentive system is needed to strengthen the attraction of GP;lastly,the training system continues to be enhanced to lift stuff quality.
