Abstract/Summary:
Situational LeadershipRTM is a probability model that focuses on a leader's ability to evaluate followers and their readiness to perform specific tasks or functions. The model is based on the readiness level of the follower and the appropriate style of leadership necessary to influence the follower in a specific direction.; The design of this study was to evaluate a group of managers that attended a training session on the Situational Leadership Model. The purpose was to determine the sustainability of the model's principles over time by evaluating the frequency that the leader was perceived using the appropriate style for given situations. It was assumed that the use of the principles of the model would be evident by those that follow, and would be reflected in the increased frequency of an appropriate readiness level to style match. The frequency of use was determine by using the LEAD-Self as a baseline for the leader's assumption in their own abilities, and the LEAD-Other to gather the perceptions of the leader's followers. Statistical testing on the data retrieved failed to reject the null hypothesis, but at the same time failed to explain movement in leadership styles between the pre and post-training surveys.
