Abstract/Summary:
The ABC Company has expanded its premises from one building to about more than 50+ sites. Thus the company decided to upgrade their system from their traditional system. The telecommunications department thus initiated this project for documentation of their present system and thus to decide on a system which would be effective and efficient in terms of cost and technology. The Company had decided to first upgrade their three main administrative sites named for the purpose of this project as ITC A, ITC B and ITC C.; This project's is divided in two parts. The main goal is to develop a Request for Proposal for the up gradation of the organization's LAN network. The second part of this project is to develop a solution for the RFP so as to validate the RFP for academic purposes.; The information about the company's network was acquired by studying the company's present infrastructure as well as the telephone bills of the company for analysis of the number of lines/per site. The solution that was decided for the up gradation of the Company's network was VOIP. VOIP was selected because the Company needed an infrastructure which was as reliable and efficient as their present PSTN system. The cost for implementation of VOIP showed a return of investment to be consistent with the Company budget capabilities. This solution would also make their network scalable and easy to maintain.
