This thesis examines two critical issues related to the anthropological inquiry of historical conflicts, in this case the First World War. The study considers the use of archival print media data as a source of information to better understand societal responses to war and the challenges posed following the return of large numbers of war-injured. Additionally, this thesis explores the validity of conducting archival print media research of historical anthropological events by comparing past scholarship on the War with information gleaned from local war advertisements from locally-obtained Canadian print media sources. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Print media, Canadian, World war, Historical | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
