Abstract/Summary:
This report describes a 120 MHz--300 MHz linear FM pulsed radar. This radar was used by the University of Kansas in Greenland in Summer 2005 to make a depth sounding between the GRIP and GISP2 ice cores. The radar features an eight-element receive array which is time-multiplexed into two receiver channels. The chirp signal is generated and acquired digitally, directly at RF. Internal layers were visible to 2700 m. System testing is described including data aquisition characterization as specified in IEEE 1241.
