Abstract/Summary:
Modeling and simulation of mobile wireless systems with mobile platforms linked together using modern wireless communication networks generally requires purchase of complex high cost software simulators and proprietary software models; resulting in special purpose simulations and designs that are difficult to modify, maintain, or provide trusted simulation results. Many developers are designing and developing their mobile systems, often connected at the edges of established networks, using software based simulation tools and obtaining operational designs from tightly coupled and rigid software simulation environment.;The thesis presents novel and flexible low cost simulator to the system designer and developer. The low cost mobile node network simulator is based on open source software and commercial-off-the-shelf hardware elements which provide low cost, adaptable, and loosely coupled simulator for modeling and simulating mobile node networked systems. The improved simulator, models, and simulation results are easily explained and described for further review by the development community.
