Abstract/Summary:
The main purpose of this case study is to evaluate the role of a web analysis tool in the design of a website. The web analysis tool chosen for this case study is 'Google Analytics'. A car dealership website was purposely designed in a poor fashion, and was then registered with Google Analytics. Several users were then asked to navigate this website, with the help of tasks assigned to them. The user behavior was recorded in Google Analytics. The opinion of the same users regarding the website was then taken by means of a Focus Group, and the results from the Focus Group and Google Analytics were then compared to see whether Google Analytics was able to point out the shortcomings in the website. The website was then modified per user inputs and other literature and was given to the same users to use. The user behavior was again tracked and compared to the original results of Google Analytics, to prove whether Google Analytics was able to measure the changes made in the website.
