Abstract/Summary:
Life goals are influenced by both an individual's personal experiences and macro level factors in society. The changing of social-economic and political structure of a society results in change in the life goals of members. A review of literature suggests that there are significant relationships among goals in life, age, gender, education level, and marital status. The purpose of this research project is to study the influence of life goals by analyzing data which is a national level probability sample of some 1785 respondents in China in 2004. Additionally, Bivariate Analysis and Multiple Regression models were tested to reveal above independent factors influencing the dependent variable---life goals which is separated by different age groups. As predicted, there are correlations among those factors with each life goal. Specifically, there are correlations between age and gender about personal wealth with an interaction.
