At present, when occupational gender segregation becomes common in the process of rural workfore migration,it has been the major reason for gender discrimination in the workplace.What caused the occupational gender segregation?The social culture,customes,traditions and other factors play an important role. However, from the psychological and behavioral perspective, the view of employers and candidates on the social relationship between gender and career plays an important role. In the study, this paper anlysised the causes of occupational gender segregation analysised from the perspective of candidates investigated the influences of gender role expectations and occupational gender segregation consciousness on career choices.Base on the depth interview of the rural workforce migration and a great deal of former researches, three questionnaires were constructed: the gender occupation role expectation questionnaire,the gender family role expectation questionnaire,the occupational gender segregation consciousness questionnaire.in the study the career choices is dependent variable,the gender occupation role expectation, the gender family role expectation,the occupational gender segregation consciousness and the population variables are independent variables,the career choices modle of rural workfore migration[0] were constructed. The main results of this study are as follows:(1) The gender occupation role expectation contains three dimensions, including occupation request, occupation performance and occupation ability. The gender family role expectation contains four dimensions: family responsibility, familism, family right and home life. Through variance analysis, the male's socres of the gender occupation role expectation questionnaire were significantly lower than female's. The male's socres of the gender family role expectation questionnaire on the overall and family responsibility and family center dimensions were significantly lower than femal's.(2) The occupational gender segregation consciousness on "feminization occupation" and "masculinization occupation" was measured through scores of the occupational gender segregation consciousness questionnaire. Through variance analysis,male's occupational gender segregation consciousness was stronger than female's on the "feminization occupation".(3) Two career choices models were constructed through regression analysis.The total estimate accuracy of the career choices estimate modle of the male was 64.7%,the model shows that: age, education background, family condition, family right, male's occupational gender segregation consciousness would significantly influence male's career choices.The total estimate accuracy of the career choices estimate modle of the female was 92.4%.the model shows that: job hunting experience, occupation request, occupation performance and female's occupational gender segregation consciousness would significantly influence female's career choices.
