| The following thesis, Crash: A Series of Linked Short Stories, is a compilation of six stories. Each story is unique with its own characters and events, yet they are connected by a single plot event, a car crash. They are also connected by the theme of relationships. The first story, "Reassurance," is about a couple named Katherine and John Dumbrowski who experience a divorce. The second story, "I'll Be There Soon," is about an elderly couple, Leo and Trina Gustafson, who deal with the highs and lows of growing old. "Goodbye Sunshine" is about an ex-couple, Steve and Jackie, experiencing the loss of a pet. "Just Wait" is a story of a young man, Tony, giving up on his lover, Megan. The story "Starting Over" is centered around the mother-daughter relationship of Debbie and Allison. "Florida Bound" portrays the unique bond two sisters, Tammy and Arianna, share. |
