Abstract/Summary:
The ever increasing trend towards miniaturization in electronics is fueled by the need to accommodate continuous improvement in product size reductions. The trend started from period of 1206 and continued to graduate to smaller sizes such as-0805, 0603, 0402, 0201. This trend is furthered by the advent of 01005's in the market.;This research makes a concrete effort and basis for understanding performance of various factors affecting 01005 printing process. The study uses statistical tests and DOE as the basis of reasoning for analyzing various process factors and settings. The various pad and aperture related performance parameters have been discussed in detail along with a brief analysis on area ratio based process performance. The Study also elucidates on various aspects of a reflow DOE conducted during this study. This thesis will further the cause of miniature component related SMT printing and assembly process.
