Abstract/Summary:
The Terfenol (TbFe2) is a sperimagnet alloy known for its excellent magnetostricitve capacities, which are excessively used in the microactuators and other Lab-on-a-chip applications. This originality is explained by an out of plane magneto crystalline anisotropy of the TbFe2. The present work is focused on the variability of the magnetostructure with an applied magnetic field and at different temperatures in order to understand the mechanisms of growing TbFe2 magnetic domains. The dynamic of the nucleation is correlated at high magnetic field with the fractal geometry. Indeed, the morphogenesis of the domains correlates the fractal geometry in the sense that linear magnetostructures tend to fill a complete area by decreasing the magnetization of the overall sample. A computing simulation of the growth using Matlab and based on the population estimation of reversed spins as a function of magnetic field and temperature provides a reproduction of the magnetic structure.
