As the urban system research changes from hierarchy to network structure, the interactive relationship between cities in urban agglomerations has also received widespread attention. In the context of the current network development of urban agglomerations, studying the interaction between cities is helpful to infer the development level of urban agglomerations, enrich the relevant theories of urban agglomerations, and deconstruct the evolution characteristics of urban agglomerations. The construction of urban agglomerations follows the evolution rule of urban agglomerations, focusing on the agglomeration and radiation functions of several core cities within the urban agglomerations, which can continuously optimize the regional economic spatial structure and promote regional resource allocation towards Pareto optimality, thereby building efficient and coordinated urban agglomeration Space system. This paper cuts into the regional nature of urban agglomerations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, obtains relational data by constructing a gravitational model, and uses social network analysis methods to analyze the urban agglomeration's urban network structure and its evolutionary process in terms of economic development and innovation activities. On this basis, using discrete dynamic analysis method, based on the Dendrinos-Sonis model comparative analysis Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area City Competitiveness Bureau in the two perspectives of economic growth and innovation activities, and use different benchmark cities to discuss the robustness of the model. At the same time, taking into account the special institutional background of the “one country, two systems” in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area,we further discussed whether institutional differences have an impact on urban interaction.By comparing the competitive bureaus at the economic and innovation levels of cities within the urban agglomeration, and using QAP regression analysis in social network analysis to study the correlation between these two levels, reflecting the contribution of the development of innovation elements in the Greater Bay Area to economicgrowth. The study found that:(1)Based on the analysis of the spatial network of the urban agglomeration at the economic and innovation level,it can be seen that as time goes by,the intensity of the spatial connection between cities becomes increasingly close, and the difference in the intensity of the spatial connection also gradually increases.(2)The urban economic interaction pattern of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is more significant than the level of urban innovation, but the cooperation relationship of the Greater Bay Area at the innovation level is more prominent, reflecting to a certain extent that the support structure for innovation power has taken shape.(3)The analysis based on the extended D-S model shows that the institutional differences have no obvious impact on the interaction relationship at the economic level of the Greater Bay Area, but have a certain impact on the interaction relationship at the innovation level.(4)Through QAP regression analysis on the economic and innovation levels of urban agglomerations,we can see that innovation has a significant role in promoting economic development.
