To establish an integrated domestic market is the important goal of the process of China’s economy system transformation,which is significant for the long-term healthy economic development.In the context of large-scale infrastructure construction in China,will the rapid development of transportation infrastructure and Internet contribute to market connection and conformity between regions to promote regional market integration? These were the research topic of this paper.This paper attempted to build a relatively complete research system of theoretical and empirical analysis to analyze the influence of transportation infrastructure and Internet that has stronger spatial externalities on regional market integration.The content of the research contained the following aspects: this paper summarized the present research status of market integration and reviewed the existing deficiencies in this study and further research direction for the future;based on the new economic geography theory,this paper discussed the influencing mechanism and paths of transportation infrastructure and Internet on regional market integration;analytic hierarchy process and relevant data was used to measure the level of China’s regional market integration through market conformity degree and regional connection degree,and then analyzed its current situation and trend of development;the econometric model was built to empirically analyze the influence of transportation infrastructure construction and Internet popularization on regional market integration in China at this stage,and to further analyze they influence strength of direct effect and spatial spillover effect and concrete influence paths on this basis;this paper summarized the research results and put forward some policy suggestions in the end.Based on above research,this paper drew the following 6 conclusions:(1)in theory,transportation infrastructure and Internet can promote price signal transduction and strengthen market connection between regions to propel the process of regional market integration through the cost effect and connection effect.(2)the measurement results showed that the level of China’s regional market integration presented increase tendency in fluctuation on the whole during the period of 2005-2017,but there was the large difference between regions and markets;(3)according to the empirical research results,transportation infrastructure construction had significant promotion effect to the process of regional market integration but the promotion effect of Internet popularization was not significant,and transportation infrastructure and Internet both had significant spatial spillover effect to regional market integration;(4)market integration between regions presented significant negative correlation relationship,which showed the "beggar thy neighbor" feature;(5)the analysis results of effect on different path showed that both transportation infrastructure and Internet could promote the process of regional market integration by affecting market conformity degree and regional connection degree,but the latter had a greater impact than the former.(6)the heterogeneity analysis results of different markets showed that transportation infrastructure and Internet had obvious heterogeneity in promoting the integration of different market: the promoting effect on the integration of commodity market is much stronger than that of capital market,while labor market is the weakest. |
