With the development of society,many professional contracting companies have been transformed and upgraded into general contracting construction companies.They will choose professional managers who have outstanding work performance and strong capability to transform general contracting project managers.The thesis mainly evaluates the competence of the project manager transferred from professional manager.Based on competence theory and personality trait theory,the thesis uses literature analysis and expert interviews to identify the project manager's competency characteristics and evaluate their weights;and evaluates the competency indicators of the project manager transformed from design manager,procurement manager and construction manager through expert interviews;the thesis uses grey multilevel comprehensive evaluation method to evaluate project manager's competency model.The thesis found that management ability has the greatest influence on project manager's competence among the dimensions of personal traits,management ability,knowledge literacy,and political competence.The project manager transformed from construction manager is more competent than the other two types.The thesis can enrich the system and scope of competence theory to a certain extent,and help the owners to select suitable engineering contracting companies,also can assist engineering companies to select and develop outstanding project managers. |
