Research On The Division And Cooperation Of Manufacturing Industry In Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration

The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 2017 clearly put forward to accelerate the construction of manufacturing power,promote China’s industry to the high end of global value chain,and foster several world-class advanced manufacturing clusters.The Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomerations is an important base of energy,coal chemical industry,processing of agricultur-al and livestock products and rare earth new material industry,and an important base of metallurgy and equipment manufacturing in the north.The ratio of manufacturing output value to industrial output value of Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomerations is very high,so the development of manufacturing industry relates to the development of industry and even the whole economy of Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomerations.The existing researches onHohhot-Baotou-OrdosYulin Urban Agglomeration mainly focus on the coordinated developmen-t of economy and the carrying capacity of urban agglomeration,but few on the manufacturing industry.In order to promote the development of manufacturing industry in Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomera-tions,this paper,on the basis of Literature Review,studies the present situation of division and cooperation in manufacturing specific industries in Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomerations by qualitative anal-ysis and Quantitative analysis.Then the existing problems of the divisio-n and cooperation in manufacturing in Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urba-n Agglomerations were summarized.At last,the countermeasures and suggestions on promoting the development of division and cooperaton in manufacturing were put forward.Firstly,This paper analyzes the background of the Division and Cooperation of the manufacturing industry in Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yuli-n Urban Agglomerations,and draws the necessity of studying the manufacturing industry in Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomera-tions,and has combed the domestic and foreign correlation research survey.Secondly,it combs the relevant concepts,including the urban agglomeration,the Hohhot-Bao-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration,the manufacturing industry and the regional division and cooperation,and also combs the relevant theories of industrial division and Cooperation,it involves the early Division and Cooperation Theory,Absolute Advantage and Comparative Advantage Theory,Factor Endowment Theory and Labor division theory.Thirdly,it analyzes the real factors of manufacturin-g industry,starting with the general situation of Hohhot-Baotou-OrdosYulin Urban Agglomeration and the real level of manufacturing industry.The similarity of industrial structure,dominant industries,division level and cooperation potential of manufacturing industry in Hohhot-BaotouOrdos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration were studied by using the similarity coefficient of industrial structure,location entropy index,regional divisio-n index and industrial cooperation potential model.At last,the existing problems of division and cooperation of manufacturing industry in Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration are summarized,and the suggestions to promote the development of division and cooperation of manufacturing industry in Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglom eration are put forward.Conclusions are drawn in the following :(1)The industrial isomorphism phenomenon exists in the manufacturing industry of Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Urban Agglomeration,except that the similarity coefficient of industrial structure in Hohhot-Bao and Bao-Yulin is less than 0.5 in all years,it is more than 0.5 between other two cities in many years.The similarity coefficients of the industrial structure of the other two cities,except for Hohhot-Ordos and Hohhot-Yulin,showed an upward trend of fluctuation.(2)The level of specialization of the manufacturing industry of the four cities was analyzed from the regional entropy of the manufacturing industry.The level of specialization of themanufacturing industry in Hohhot is very high in the four cities,the location entropy of the manufacturing industry has always been greater than 1.And the level of specialization of the manufacturing industry in Baotou has been rising slowly,reaching the highest level in the four cities by 2016.The level of specialization in the manufacturing sector of the Ordos City showed an upward trend and then a downward trend,and by2016 the level of specialization was the lowest among the four cities.Yulin ’ s specialization level fluctuates greatly to the third position in2016.(3)From the level of division,The level of division of Hohhot-Baotou,Baotou-Yulin is high,the Division index in most years is more than 1.5.In many years,the division index of Hohhot-Ordos,Baotou-Ordos,Hohhot-Yulin and Ordos-Yulin was slightly more than 1and sometimes was less than 1,the level of division is medium.And in recent years,the level of division shows a downward trend,and the industries with higher division is few.The industries with a higher level of division among four cities are mainly heavy industry,then light industry,and the level of division among the technology-intensive industries is not high.(4)The industrial cooperation potential among the cities varies from one to the other.From the perspective of the industries with high cooperation potential,in addition to Hohhot-Baotou,BaotouOrdos,the high-cooperation-potential industries are many,other among two cities high-cooperation-potential industries are less.The high-potenti-al cooperation industries involves light industry and heavy industry.And the most high-cooperation-potential industries are capital-intensive industry,followed by labor-intensive industry.The technology-intensive industry is less.
