Innovation is crucial to the long-term development of an enterprise.The innovation development of an enterprise depends on the innovation capabilities of employees.Therefore,how to improve the innovation ability of employees and stimulate their innovative behavior has become a topic of continuous concern to academia and practitioners.Most of the researches on antecedent variables of employee innovation behavior in the existing literature focus on explaining from the perspective of leadership style and have achieved abundant results,while the research on the impact on employee innovation behavior from individual level is still rare.As an individual level factor,employee mindfulness has not attracted widespread attention in the field of management.There are few literatures to explore the relationship between employee mindfulness and innovative behavior,and there are even few researches on the mechanism of the impact of mindfulness on employee innovation behavior.Based on self-determination theory,resource protection theory,and strong and weak situation hypothesis,this study attempts to investigate the impact of mindfulness on employee innovation behavior and its internal mechanism in the organizational context of China,and attempts to explore the mediating role of work engagement between mindfulness and employee innovation behavior.On this basis,the adjusting variable of perceived supervisor support is also introduced to explore its moderating effect on employee mindfulness and work engagement.Through the use of questionnaire survey method,using SPSS25.0 and AMOS24.0 statistical software to analyze and test the 319 sample data.The results indicate that mindfulness has a positive impact on employee innovation behavior.Employee mindfulness positively affects work engagement and the dimensions of vigor,absorption,and dedication of work engagement.Work engagement mediates the relationship between mindfulness and employee innovation behavior,and the dimensions of vigor,absorption,and dedication all play a part of the mediating effect between the two.In addition,perceived supervisor support plays a negative moderating effect between employee mindfulness and work engagement.The research results not only deepen the understanding of mindfulness in the field of management,help organizations recognize and play the positive role of mindfulness in the workplace,but also provide new ideas and practical references for promoting employees innovative behavior and work engagement.
