The rapid development of China`s economy in the past decades,notonly attracts many foreign-capital enterprise,but also accelerate thegrowth and strength of domestic companies. How to enhance the corecompetence of Chinese enterprises in this competitive age, to improvebusiness performance through improving employee performance hasbecame the key issue as well as to accomplish strategic objects and ensuresustainable development. The concept of employee engagement andperceived organizational support which considered as important sources ofenterprises competitiveness, provides a new thinking to the study ofimproving employees’ performance.This paper attempts to analyze the mechanism of influences that staffengagement, perceived organization support exerted over the staffs`jobperformance. It is also expected to expand the employee engagementtheory, organizational support theory, job performance theory and otherrelated fields, and expected to provide a scientific theoretical basis andeffective mentoring plan for the practice of China’s enterprise managementin the Chinese cultural context. This paper first reviewed the relevant studies of employeeengagement, job performance and perceived organizational support athome and abroad, combed different construct dimensions of employeeengagement, work performance and perceived organization support. Thenit proposed the research hypotheses and theoretical model of this paper,and selected pertinent questionnaires as research tool for the investigation.We investigated the relationship between the variables and came toour conclusion by investigating192employees on an empirical study.Results showed that: perceived organizational support and itssub-dimensions had a significant positive effect on staffs’ performance.Employee engagement had a significant positive effect on jobperformance,and also showed the intermediary effect on the relationshipbetween perceived organizational support and job performance as wesupposed.
