The construction of the six major economic corridors,namely,China-Mongolia-Russia,China-Pakistan,Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar,New-Asia-Europe Continental Bridge,China-Indochina Peninsula and China-Central Asia-West Asia Cross-border Economic Corridor,is a planned economic belt for China to cooperate with the countries along the belt and road.Among them,the economic corridor between China,Mongolia and Russia is typical and representative.From ancient times to the present,Mongolia and Russia have been important neighbors and trading partners of our country.With the introduction of the strategy of "one belt and one road",Mongolia has developed the "grassland road" strategy,and Russia has also promoted the strategy of "trans Europe and Asia development belt".At the same time,Russia has also initiated the strategy of "Trans-Eurasian Development Zone".The two strategies proposed by China and Russia are highly unified in the core tenet of our country's "one belt and one road" strategy.On June 23,2016,China,Mongolia and Russia formally signed "the Outline of Planning for the Construction of China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor",which will effectively promote the construction of economic corridor,accelerate the synergistic effect of economic development of the three countries and jointly enhance their trade competitiveness in the world.Firstly,this paper analyses the development and changes of trade between China,Mongolia and Russia from 2000 to 2017.Secondly,the author analyses the import and export commodity structure of China,Russia and Mongolia.In order to analyze the Trade Competitiveness and complementarity of China,Russia and Mongolia,this paper calculates the trade competitiveness index and intra-industry trade index of China,Russia and Mongolia respectively,and analyses the trade competitiveness index between China and Mongolia through the calculation results.Finally,with the help of stochastic frontier analysis method,the trade potential of China-Mongolia-Russia economic corridor construction to China,Mongolia and Russia is quantitatively estimated.This paper chooses the panel data of the countries along the economic corridor of China-Mongolia-Russia,China-Pakistan,Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar,China-Indochina Peninsula and the seven major trading partners of Mongolia and Russia from 2008 to 2017 to analyze the trade efficiency of China,Mongolia and Russia.Because the trade efficiency and trade potential are inversely proportional,the trade potential can be calculated according to the trade efficiency.This paper draws the following conclusions:(1)The total trade volume between China and Mongolia and Russia is on the rise in general,and the proportion of the two countries' total foreign trade is also increasing year by year,and the trade links between the three countries are becoming closer and closer.(2)Through the analysis of the complementarity and competitiveness of the specific products of China,Mongolia and Russia,it is found that the trade between China,Russia and Mongolia is highly complementary and has great potential for trade development.(3)Through stochastic frontier analysis,it shows that the trade potential of the economic corridor between China,Mongolia and Russia is 0.46,which is also higher than that of the other three countries along the economic corridor.This shows that there is still much room for cooperation and development among the three countries,and that the economic corridor between China,Mongolia and Russia has great potential for development.Finally,under the background of building China-Mongolia economic corridor,this paper puts forward several suggestions to promote China-Russian and China-Mongolian trade,develop trade potential and improve trade efficiency.
