The Influence Of Risk Perception On Safety Behavior Of Construction Workers

The construction industry often causes economic losses,waste of resources and personal injury,and is considered one of the most dangerous industries.Improving the safety behavior of construction workers is one of the accessible ways to improve the safety level of construction projects.However,the existing research found that the factors that affect the safety behavior of the lower rate of explanation,indicating that there are other important factors exist.This study begins with risk management,and regards safety behavior as risk aversion behavior,to explore the construction workers risk perception of its safety behavior.Based on the theory of social cognition,the perception and behavior of construction workers are affected by the environment,while the practice of construction workers shows that leadership behavior and workers’ behavior are important influencing factors.Therefore,through literature review,this study puts forward a theoretical model of risk perception,safety behavior,safety leadership,colleagues’ safety knowledge/behavior,including two main parts:(a)test and analysis of the influence of risk perception on safety behavior of construction workers;(b)exploring the moderating influence between the construction workers and interacting with others and the environment.In this study,the questionnaire was designed and distributed,and SPSS was used for data processing to verify the proposed theoretical model.The results of hierarchical regression analysis show that risk perception has a significant positive impact on safety behavior.As a regulatory variable,safety leadership and perceived colleagues’ safety knowledge/behavior have a significant effect on risk perception process for safety behavior.This result enriches the research of influencing factors of safety behavior from the theoretical point of view,and can guide the practice of safety in practice.
