The Impact Of Export Trade On Chinese Enterprises' Technology Innovation

Technological innovation already became a topic which cannot be avoided whether in domestic economic transformation or international trade development.How can domestic enterprises be invincible under the circumstances that international competition becoming more and more intense? To solve this problem,understanding the internal relationship between foreign export trade and enterprise technology innovation has become the focused topic of current research.Based on the theoretical research,this paper determines the measurement indicators of technological innovation by collating relevant literatures at home and abroad,and understands the impact of exports on innovations such as “export promotion theory” and “export obstruction theory”.And then we also studied the empirical research methods of academic frontiers on the relationship between export and innovation.On this basis,this paper will focus on the field of foreign trade and export,and strive to study the relationship between export trade and technological innovation level through a multi-dimensional perspective.Specifically,we first summarize the situation of export and technological innovation from the macro level and analyzes the characteristics of those in order to grasp the current situation of export and technological innovation in China.Furthermore,from the macroscopic perspective to the micro perspective,the internal logic of the impact of exports on the level of technological innovation is been considered at the enterprises level.We use the data of China Industry Business Performance Database,established a Difference-in-Differences(DID)model to study the relationship between export and technological innovation from empirical perspective,meanwhile,use propensity score matching(PSM)to solve the problems of possible bias and endogenous.The research of this paper shows that: Exports have a significant positive impact on the technological innovation of enterprises.After further heterogeneity analysis of the company,it was found that the impact of exports on enterprises in the eastern region is more significant than western,and compared with low-tech and medium-low-tech industries,exports have a more significant impact on technological innovation in the medium-high-tech industries,but in highest-tech industry,the level-up of innovation is more dependent on self-research.And the export effect of domestic-funded enterprises has led to more significant innovation effects compared with foreign-funded enterprises.Based on the research above,this paper proposes that,before the gradually disappeared of domestic demographic dividends,shortages of resources,and pollution problems became more serious of environment,the best way to ensure the sustainable development of export trade and escape the low-end crisis of low-end industrial chain blockade is that accelerate the transformation of export,promote domestic enterprises to enhance their ability to innovate,and establish a better policy environment from the perspective of intellectual property rights.
