China is in the socialist stage of the new era.Balancing urban and rural regional development and narrowing the income distribution gap are the key to solving the problem of inadequate development imbalance.Promoting rural labor mobility can not only promote urbanization, increase the income of rural residents and urban residents, thereby improving people's living standards, but also changing the level of labor supply, improving the human capital of rural labor, achieving coordinated urban and rural development, and realizing the goal of coordinated urban and rural development and building a well-off society in an all-round way.Based on labor mobility theory, income distribution theory and urban-rural dual structure theory, this paper takes rural labor mobility as the starting point, analyzes the impact mechanism of rural labor mobility on urban-rural income gap,and adopts Chinese provincial panel data from 2005 to 2016.The research methods of economic analysis are empirically tested from the whole country and different geographical regions, and provide policy recommendations for narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas.Specifically, first of all, this paper explains the general situation of rural labor mobility and urban-rural income gap from three aspects: development background, development status and existing problems. On this basis, the two paths from the rural labor mobility to the urbanization process and the change of labor supply level explain its impact on the urban-rural income gap,and then use the 2005-2016 Chinese provincial panel data to establish a model for empirical analysis. The rural labor mobility is an explanatory variable, and the urban-rural income gap is the explanatory variable. It examines the impact of rural labor mobility on the urban-rural income gap in China's overall scope, and further analyzes the rural labor mobilit y's urban-rural income gap from the eastern, central and western regions.influences.The empirical results show that from a national perspective, the rural labor mobility has a significant positive impact on the urban-rural income gap.The regression coefficients of the control variables except the education level can be tested by the 1% significance level. The regression coefficient of rural labor mobility is 0.090,and for every 1 unit of labor mobility, the income gap between urban and rural residents will increase by about 9%.In terms of regions, the regression coefficients of rural labor mobility in the eastern and central regions are all tested by the 1% significance level. This shows that the rural labor mobility in the eastern and central regions has a positive and significant impact on the urban-rural income gap, with the eastern region being the most Significantly, the western region did not pass the significant test because the labor output in the western region was dominant, and there was no significant impact on the local urban-rural income gap. Finally, this paper proposes policy recommendations that are conducive to better promoting rural labor mobility and narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas from the four aspects of breaking the employment system of urban and rural division, strengthening the development of urban economy, promoting economic construction in rural areas and promoting the citizenization of migrant workers.
