Since the beginning of the 21st century,especially since the establishment of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area,trade between China and ASEAN has become increasingly frequent,and bilateral progress has been made in goods trade,service trade,and two-way investment.Although there have been fluctuations in some years,China-ASEAN economic and trade relations have withstood the South China Sea dispute and the test of the rise of trade protectionism.In November 2018,the"China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership 2030 Vision"jointly issued by the two sides pointed out that China-ASEAN relations have entered a new era.China's exports of ASEAN transportation equipment are a microcosm of this background The transportation equipment manufacturing industry is one of the important pillar industries of China's national economy,and it is also a core industry that can demonstrate the manufacturing level of a country.At the same time,the export of transportation equipment is highly coupled with China's infrastructure cooperation with ASEAN.Therefore,promoting China's exports of ASEAN transportation equipment is of great significance to the upgrading of China s equipment manufacturing industry and the daily life of the ASEAN people However,in recent years,China s exports to ASEAN s transportation equipment have encountered difficulties,so China's analysis of ASEAN It is especially important to explore the growth of transportation equipment exports and explore new growth points in the new eraThis article takes China's export trade of transportation equipment to ASEAN as the research object.From 2000 to 2017,China began to export the scale of ASEAN transportation equipment,the structure of its exports,and its market competitiveness.It also discussed the current situation of China's exports of transportation equipment to ASEAN.It has been found that China s exports to ASEAN's transportation equipment have been uneven in the past,the value added of products is low,and the competitiveness of some products is insufficient.In the binary marginal decomposition of China's exports of ASEAN transport equipment,the article uses Hummels and Klenow(2005)decomposition method to carry out binary marginal decomposition of China's exports of ASEAN transport equipment from 2003 to 2017.It is concluded that between 2003 and 2017,the intensified marginal growth is the main reason for stimulating China's exports of ASEAN transport equipment.The expansion margin generally shows an upward trend,which has played a certain role in the export of China's transportation equipment to ASEAN,but the expansion margin has fluctuated in some years.Among them,the situation of expanding marginal instability is related to the lack of competitiveness of some Chinese products in preliminary research.The empirical research analyzes the factors affecting the export of China's transport equipment to ASEAN.Using the panel data of ASEAN countries from 2003 to 2017,after the mixed effect regression,it is found that the level of trade freedom of ASEAN countries is the binary margin of China's exports.There is a significant positive impact,which is consistent with the fact that the trade volume in the initial exploration of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area early harvest program(increasing trade freedom)has continued to grow.China's productivity level has a significant positive impact on the binary margin of China's exports to ASEAN transport equipment.The relative GDP of the export destination country has a significant negative impact on the intensive margin of China's exports,and has a positive impact on the expansion margin of China's exports.The geographical distance between China and the country of export has a negative impact on the binary margin of China's exports to ASEAN's transportation equipmentFinally,based on the conclusions of the analysis,this paper proposes to strengthen infrastructure construction cooperation,promote the construction of"Pan-Asian Grand Passage",strengthen scientific and technological innovation,improve the productivity of transportation equipment manufacturing,establish a Chinese brand image in the ASEAN market,and differentiate products.,reducing the impact of non-tariff barriers,etc.
