The processes of collection, recyclability and disposal of municipal solid waste(MSW)is acute issue worldwide. The problem primarily lies in the negative impact on the environment and in the irrational use of natural resources. The system of collecting, recycling and disposal of MSW is imperfect in Russia,in addition the primary sorting of households solid waste(HSW)is completely missing. The present works aims at design a recycling logistics network model in Moscow city, which involves the determination of the optimal locations allocations of sorting centers in terms of transportation costs, according to location of waste collecting points and disposal points. To solve this problem, the number of existing centers for processing and recycling of secondary materials, their types, capacity and location in the city were investigated. To determine the optimal locations of waste collection and recycling centers,it is necessary to identify the amount of solid waste suitable for processing, establish methods of sorting,as well as methods of storage and transportation.A clear understanding of the nature of waste, their sorting and storage will make it possible to calculate the most optimal solutions for subsequent processing and disposal. The MSW sorting system implementation will not only reduce the negative impact on the environment, but also bring economic benefits by using the secondary materials.
