After the Second World War,intra-industry trade,as a new form of international trade,is gradually developing and becoming the mainstream direction of international trade at this stage, which deserves our attention. After the establishment of diplomatic collaboration between China and the European Union in 1975,the economic and trade consociation between China and Germany have become increasingly conversant, and Germany has become the largest trade companion with China in Europe. As the largest economy in the EU,its achievements in manufacturing are particularly eye-catching.In the new round of industrial revolution in the world,Germany first proposed the "Industry 4.0" strategy.China has also launched its own "Made in China 2025" industrial development policy for industrial innovation.Under this background, the scale of trade between the two sides continues to expand and the trade structure has gradually changed. In 2017,the import and export volume of Sino-German manufacturing industry was 162.339 billion US dollars, and the proportion of trade volume between China and Germany was as high as 96.58%.The trade cooperation of the manufacturing industry is a crucial leading force in the trade between China and Germany. Therefore,an in-depth study of the manufacturing trade between the two countries is of great guiding value for enhancing the core competitiveness of China's manufacturing industry and even China's overall economic strength, promoting the further collaboration and development of Sino-German manufacturing intra-industry trade and even radiating the entire EU market. This thesis firstly expounds the overall status of Sino-German bilateral trade, and then analyzes the bilateral trade structure of the manufacturing industry of the two countries.According to the third revision of the International Trade Standard Classification of the United Nations, the trade characteristics of the subdivided manufacturing industries are summarized.Secondly, using the data of the UN COMTRADE database, this thesis calculates the G-L index of subdivided manufacturing industries and the weighted G-L index of the overall manufacturing industry to quantify the degree of bilateral trade. In terms of influencing factors, this paper on the basis of combing the development characteristics of intra-industry trade in the manufacturing industry of both sides with the previous research results, focusing on the Chinese and German per capita income level PGDP,the difference of the size of the market DGDP,technical level TL,Trade imbalance TB,Germany's direct investment in China FDI,and constructing linear regression model carrying out empirical analysis to measure the degree of intra-industry trade. The regression results show that the per capita income level and technical level of China and Germany have a positive effect on deepening cooperation of Sino-German manufacturing industry trade. While the difference of the size of the market, trade imbalance and Germany's FDI to China has a certain inhibiting effect on G-L index. From the perspective of force salience, the influence of the differences in market size, technical level and trade imbalance on the G-L index is more obvious. Finally, based on the analysis of the full text, this paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures for the further high-quality cooperation of Sino-German manufacturing intra-industry trade.
