With the rapid development of market economy, the market competition is becoming more and more fierce. In the fierce competition,if an organization wants to remain invincible,it must have innovation, whether in system innovation or in production form, etc. The most important one is the innovative behavior of employees in an organization. It can be said that the innovative behavior of employees can greatly enhance the innovative strength of the organization. How to improve employees’ innovative behavior is a strategic issue that many organizations consider. In fact, with the deepening of research, researchers have found that work stress is not always negative. In fact, with its different nature,it can have different impacts on innovative behavior.Karasek(1979)believes that stress research should start at the individual level in the work environment, that is,from the perspective of work characteristics,Demerouti,Bakker,Nachreiner proposed in 2001.Work Requirement-Work Resource Model is used to study the characteristics of work.In this case, through the control and adjustment of the two characteristics of work requirements and work resources, the organization can maintain the moderate positive pressure of employees, reduce unnecessary negative pressure, and improve the organizational environment for employees’ innovation. In this study,517 employees in enterprises were surveyed by questionnaires.Work characteristics were measured by Job Requirements Scale and Work Resources Scale.Work stress was measured by Challenge-Interruption Stress Scale.Innovative behavior was measured by Innovative Behavior Scale, and the relationship between them was tested and discussed. The results show that:(1)There are significant gender differences in job requirements, men’ s job requirements are higher than women’ s;there are significant differences in age,29-39 year-old employees have the highest job requirements,18-28 year-old employees have the second highest job requirements,40-50 year-old employees have the third highest job requirements, and employees over 50 years old have the lowest job requirements; There are significant gender differences in challenging stress.Men’s challenge stress is higher than women’ s.There are significant gender differences in innovative behavior.Male innovative behavior is higher than female innovative behavior.Organizational nature of innovative behavior is higher in private enterprises than in state-owned enterprises.(2)Job requirements are positively correlated with work resources, challenge pressure, interruptive pressure and innovation behavior;work resources and challenge pressure are positively correlated with innovation behavior;challenge pressure is positively correlated with innovation behavior.(3)The relationship between job requirements and innovative behavior, and the relationship between job resources and job requirements.
