This article is written to collect relevant materials from real social and economic activities,discuss and study the related academic achievements of domestic and overseas scholars.After extracting the essence from plentiful resources,we have formed the thought track and come to the research theme.According to literature search,there are plentiful theories in the academia which separately study e-commerce or the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry.However,the research results from the application of e-commerce to promote the transformation and upgrading of Zhejiang manufacturing industry are rare,so this paper has achieved a certain degree of innovation.On the basis of summarizing the relevant academic literature and trends,this paper focused on the theme that e-commerce promotes the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry in Zhejiang.And this paper conducts research from three parts,namely,theoretical analysis,empirical analysis and case analysis.This article started with the theoretical research on applying e-commerce to promote the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry,and then used ecommerce knowledge and tech-economic method for research.The research results showed that e-commerce is helpful to reduce the production and operation costs,and conducive to expanding the scope of the market,fostering the technological innovation of manufacturing enterprises and improving the organization model of manufacturing enterprises as well as their profitability and competitiveness.That will promote enterprises to a higher level of manufacturing,ultimately achieve transformation and upgrading.The specific conclusions obtained from the theoretical research are listed as follows: first,e-commerce can effectively boost the profitability and transformation and upgrading capacity of the manufacturing industry in Zhejiang.Second,e-commerce is conducive to driving the market demand of manufacturing industry,expanding market scope,solving information asymmetry and optimizing market resource allocation;it also contributes to facilitating the application and development of cloud computing,Internet of Things and other new technologies in the manufacturing industry which providing big data support for technological innovation;e-commerce is conducive to promoting the renewal and construction of technical infrastructure such as mobile/broadband,computer server as well as the external public infrastructure such as transportation and logistics;e-commerce is conducive to the promotion of modern service industries such as e-commerce services and logistics services,and promotes upstream and downstream industries so that attracts high-quality talents,improve the quality of labor force,and optimize the structure of labor force;e-commerce is conducive to changing people's lifestyle and consumption habits,promoting the change of consumption structure,and helping enterprises to better grasp consumer demand;ecommerce is conducive to attracting the attention of the government,prompting the government to use the constraint mechanism and incentive mechanism of laws and regulations,and providing an excellent policy environment for the innovation and development of enterprises.Since e-commerce is conducive to improving the environmental elements of the above six aspects,it can improve the technological innovation capability of enterprises and promote the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.Third,e-commerce can promote the networked development of industrial organizations.Because e-commerce can promote the establishment of a network organization model that is compatible with e-commerce within or between enterprises,enterprises can fully utilize the technological advantages of e-commerce,dock the market demand,expand the market scope,and reduce the internal operation management and external cooperation costs improve profitability;at the same time,e-commerce can deepen the professional division of labor within the network organization,improve the efficiency of enterprise management,and flexibly respond to market changes.In order to verify the insights from theoretical research,this article made a further explanation and demonstration through empirical models and typical cases.In the empirical model part,this article focused on the overall impact of ecommerce on the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry in Zhejiang Province.In the empirical analysis,firstly this paper constructed the measurement system of e-commerce development level and transformation and upgrading ability of Zhejiang manufacturing industry.On this basis,the panel data of 11 cities in Zhejiang province from 2012 to 2016 was used for regression analysis and an empirical research model was set up.The results showed that e-commerce could significantly improve the ability of Zhejiang's manufacturing transformation and upgrading.In the typical case part,this article selected two complementary examples: Yiwu applied e-commerce through trade and industry linkage to rectify the infrastructure environment,market environment,labor environment,technical environment,policy environment,and social culture environment of manufacturing industry innovation so those rectification had effectively promoted the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.Another one is that Suichang applied e-commerce to establish e-commerce network organization of products and build an enterprise network organization that matches e-commerce.Thereby,Suichang has rapidly promoted local professional division of labor,reduced transaction costs between enterprises and improved the competitiveness of manufacturing enterprises.Finally,it also strongly promoted the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry.Finally,this article also analyzed some problems in applying e-commerce to promote the transformation and upgrading of Zhejiang manufacturing industry and proposed some countermeasures in a targeted manner.
