After the comprehensive promotion of the household contract responsibility system, farmers mainly carry out agricultural production in an independent way. With the continuous development of the economy and society, farmers simply rely on their own strength to go to market because of their lack of social capital and material capital. It was very difficult,so the farmer cooperatives came into being. The ideal farmer cooperative is to achieve the union between the weak, which is essentially pro-poor.So,how about the pro-poorness of farmer cooperatives in specific practice? This paper takes the "pro-poor growth" as a theoretical perspective to study the operation practice of farmers' professional cooperatives in J County of Gansu.Firstly, based on the literature and field research, the actual operation of local farmers'cooperatives was investigated, and the mechanism of poverty alleviation of cooperatives was explored. Then, according to the core essence of the concept of "pro-poor growth",the two dimensions of "increased income" and "equal opportunity" were constructed to select indicators, and the enrichment method was used to evaluate the pros and cons of cooperatives, thus clarifying the benefits of farmers'cooperatives. On the basis of the current situation and problems of pro-poorness,an in-depth analysis of the main factors affecting the pro-poorness of farmer cooperatives was carried out.The study found that,(1)different from the,the joint of the weak "cooperatives in the classical cooperative system,in the local practice, mainly the" able men run club"type cooperatives, the former's poverty reduction logic is" regiment-keep warm" The latter's logic of poverty reduction is "driven-participation."(2)The poverty alleviation mechanism of farmer cooperatives in local practice is mainly reflected in:first, alleviating income poverty by increasing farmers' material capital;second, mitigating ability by providing farmers with more inclusive employment opportunities.Poverty;third, improve the income structure by broadening the channels for farmers to increase their income.(3)The factors affecting the poverty alleviation of farmers' cooperatives are internal and external. The internal factors mainly include:the production and operation status of the cooperative directly affects the changes in the material capital of the poor;the organizational form of the cooperative affects the willingness of the weak to absorb, and the cooperative society tends to have more participation from the grassroots government and the supporting units in the establishment and operation process. To absorb more poor people;the organization type of cooperatives affects the ability of the weak to absorb, and the labor-intensive industries can absorb more poor people. These three factors hinder or smooth the cooperative's pro-poor mechanism. In addition, the national strategy and national policy guidance have formed a "thrust" to improve the leanness of cooperatives. The involvement of grassroots governments has formed a "pull"to improve the leanness of cooperatives. When the two forces of the two dimensions act simultaneously, the cooperative's pro-poor mechanism is significantly smoothed, thereby enhancing the cooperative's pro-poorness.
