Along with the rapid growth of vehicles in our country,the problems of urban road system and traffic congestion are increasingly serious.Especially during major holidays,the residents' demands for travel and population explode.As the bottleneck of highway traffic problems,the toll stations bear heavier traffic burden.If they are unable to meet the demands,the whole society will face a series of traffic and social problems.Therefore,it is necessary for highway management departments to learn about the traffic capacity of highway toll station during major holidays,to reasonably plan toll road junctions and to improve the traffic capacity and service levels.This thesis is about researching the optimization of traffic capacity of highway toll station during major holidays.Firstly,based on the introduction of research background and meaning and the summary of domestic and overseas researches in the field of traffic capacity in highway toll-stations and traffic simulation technology,the thesis points out that it is imperative to take actual conditions of China into account in order to research traffic capacity of highway toll station.Secondly,briefly introducing the classification and layout of highway toll station,this paper analyzes the features of the traffic capacity of highway toll station during major holidays from four respects including traffic flow,the types of vehicle,vehicle arrival characteristics and driver's behavior characteristics.Moreover,connecting with theoretical study and analyzing several vital factors which influence traffic capacity of highway toll station,the thesis put forward the traffic capacity's calculation methods about MTC and ETC channels.Besides,in terms of the traffic problems of Jiang Yin Bridge's toll station during important holidays,the thesis proposes preference patterns of optimal program for its traffic capacity based on the minimization of the cost.Meanwhile,it puts forward the computing method of the free passage's traffic capacity as the exclusive free passage for cars are set up in the toll station of expressways during major holidays.At last,the thesis makes use of the simulation software VISSIM and designs a simulation model with the background of Jiang Yin Bridge,providing simulation support for the solving the following problems of the preference patterns of optimal programs for the traffic capacity of expressways' toll station.Through simulating the three alternative programs of feasibility,the traffic capacity and delay time can be achieved and it turns out by comparison that program two has the most optimal evaluation index in traffic capacity.Through optimization,the traffic capacity of Jiang Yin Bridge's toll station significantly has been improved from 4098pcu/h to 5643pcu/h and it can meet the traffic demand during major holidays.Based on the studies,it is efficient for highway toll station to solve the traffic congestion by the optimization of traffic capacity in highway toll station during major holidays.The proposed minimizing-cost method of traffic capacity optimization of highway toll station could perfect the highway toll stations capacity.It has certain feasibility and effectiveness.
